Before You Change Your General Education (GE) Catalog Year:  

The new General Education (GE) pattern will be available to both new and continuing students starting Fall 2025. Your catalog rights are based on when and where you started college and how long you have been “continuously enrolled.” Read more about your catalog rights in the Academic Regulations section of the catalog.

In April 2025, continuing Humboldt students will have their general education and catalog rights reviewed. If it appears that you will benefit from the new GE pattern, your GE catalog year will be updated to Fall 2025 and you will be notified via email. Continuing students who do not benefit from the change, will remain in their current GE catalog year.  

Students may request to remain in their original (Old) GE catalog year or request to switch to the new catalog year. Students should discuss these changes carefully with their academic advisor. 

To verify your current General Education Catalog requirements, login to DARS, run your audit and review the “GE Catalog Year” noted at the top of the audit.
