Dear #First Name#,

A number of Verizon hotspots, including some we’ve loaned to students, have been recalled due to some safety concerns. We are working out how to get a replacement for the affected devices. The hotspot you have from us is one of these affected models. We need you to let us know a good mailing address for you and if you are continuing to take classes this summer or fall so we can coordinate a replacement. We’ll be in touch once we hear back from Verizon on next steps.

What models are affected:

Verizon Ellipsis Jetpack MHS900L, MHS900LS and MHS900LPP

How to stay safe until you get a replacement:

  • Use only approved charging cables, including the cable provided.
  • When not in use, power down/turn off your device.
  • Place your device on a flat, solid and sturdy surface such as a floor or table.
  • Ensure your device is not covered for proper ventilation.
  • Keep devices near room temperature when in use.
  • Do not expose the units to extreme temperatures for extended periods of time.
  • Do not expose the unit or its battery to water or other liquids.
  • Do not drop the units and do not insert foreign objects into the battery or unit.
